The IOC is committed to bring at least 100 athletes to the Olympics in 2012.
Colombia aims to classify at least a hundred athletes for London 2012
The Colombian Olympic Committee (COC) today unveiled its program for the London Olympic Games 2012, which aims to participate with a delegation of at least one hundred athletes.
COC president, Balthazar Medina, said that "what for many would be foolish to commit to a goal of bringing at least 100 athletes to London 2012, I think we are about to bring it to reality."

Medina said in a press conference that the first "goal" even can be overcome because in the absence of one year for those just, Colombia has 70 athletes officially classified.

He was confident that the professionalism of each of the Colombian Olympic team falls short of the circumstances to not only qualify for London, but to help improve, significantly, the number of medals achieved by the Colombian delegation to the fullest quotes world sport.

"We must respond to the efforts of national government seeking more medals at London Olympics," said Medina, adding that talk of numbers is as "throw a rope around his neck, but let's go for it."

He said the sports budget and final goals are supported because unlike other years, athletes now advance a preparedness plan that includes participation in international events, thanks to the financial resources that turns the government.

He explained that although "there is nothing in abundance," now "we have the necessary resources and can not say that the poor results stem from the lack of support."

The ceremony was presented with the sportswear each of the 70 athletes who have secured your place for the Olympics 2012.

He stressed that at least for now, women's football is the only sport that has quota set in London and the rest are individual disciplines.

The COC follows closely the cases of weightlifter Jacqueline Renteria, who has been recovering from an ACL operation.

Also that of the lifter also Leidy Solis, who is pregnant and not know if after motherhood, has enough time to reach peak performance to be in London.

Colombia, who participated in the Olympics since 1932, has won eleven medals, one gold, three silver and seven bronze.
